Standard acoustic insulation (double glazing, acoustic panels, heavy curtains) is designed for airborne sound at mid-high frequencies. At 7 Hz, wall TL is under 3 dB and floor slab TL is under 5 dB — the insulation is essentially transparent. Bass from a neighbour's subwoofer, a shared wall transducer, or a vehicle below travels via structural flanking paths. Building-wide resonance. Diagonal acoustic paths.
